Guide to gay friendly universities

stonewall gay rightsGay rights charity Stonewall has published an online guide to ‘gay friendly’ universities in the UK.

Stonewall have profiled and rated every university in Britain to assess how much support they provide for LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transexual) students, or those who are still unsure of their sexuality. Each university was assessed on ten areas including whether they have a harassment policy to deal with homophobia, if staff take compulsory training in LGBT issues and how large and active the student LGBT society is. The guide also considers other factors like whether the university has given honorary degrees to prominent gay figures, and what the gay clubbing scene is like in each city.
